Calling all Facebook Addicts

posted on February 11, 2009 by the ideeli team

We know what it's like to check our newsfeeds every 20 minutes to see what our 4 best friends and 387 people we met once are doing. We already allow you to connect your existing ideeli account to your Facebook account using Facebook Connect. To make it even better, we've enabled some exciting new features that will permit ideeli members to share their experiences with friends on Facebook.

As of today, you can share all of your favorite events with your Facebook friends via your newsfeed. Did you scoop your friends with 65% off a Gucci clutch? Enter a giveaway for the latest Balenciaga bag? Share with friends and ideeli will automatically include an invitation link your friends can use to join. As always, you receive a $25 credit the first time your friend buys.

How does it work?

  1. You must have your ideeli account and Facebook account connected.
  2. You'll need to log in to ideeli using Facebook Connect.
  3. Each time you see "Share on Facebook", you can share that event or action with a friend. You'll only see "Share on Facebook" if you are currently logged on with Facebook Connect.
  4. You can choose to send a one line message to your newsfeed, or send a longer story.
  5. You must confirm the message before it is sent to your newsfeed, unless you choose to automatically post one-line news feeds every time.

Worried about privacy issues? Don't be. ideeli will not access your Facebook account without your prior authorization and you can disconnect your ideeli and Facebook accounts at any time.

See the FAQ for step-by-step instructions.

Your Personal Invite Link

posted on January 19, 2009 by the ideeli team

Now you can share ideeli with your friends using your Personal Invite Link. Your Personal Invite Link was automatically created for you using your ideeli username. If you wish to change your Personal Invite Link, you can, as long as the Personal Invite Link you want is not already in use.

To customize your link, click "Edit Link" on this page. Don't worry if you edit it after you have given out your original invite link. You'll get credit whether your friends use your old link or your new link to join.

As always, you'll get a $25 credit for each friend who joins using this link and makes a purchase.

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, we've been having trouble sending emails for the past couple of days.  So that you can stay prepared for our great deals we wanted to let you know that all of our sales will be starting at 11AM (Eastern) for the rest of the month.  We're working hard to get the email system fixed ASAP.

In the meantime please follow us on twitter at twitter.com/ideeli .  Our twitter event announcements are working well.

The Tell A Friend Giveaway Promise

posted on December 5, 2008 by the ideeli team

We've been listening to your feedback, concerns, and ideas regarding the Tell A Friend giveaway recently held. As a result, we updated our FAQ section to include the expansion of the ideeli promise to cover the new Tell A Friend Giveaway in particular, we wanted to be clear about our active auditing of the validity of additional entries.

Why do we have "Tell A Friend Giveaways"? So your friends can be included in the fun and ideeli can grow our membership, which allows us to get even more fantastic designer deals and giveaway items.

So, here's how it works. After entering a Tell A Friend Giveaway, you will be invited to submit the names and email addresses of your friends. You can invite anyone you wish. Tell your friends on Facebook, Twitter, anyone- so you get more chances to win AND receive a $25 shopping credit with each of your friend's first purchase.

Of course, each friend you invite has to be "real live human being" - separate from you, who meets the necessary criteria to become a valid ideeli member (over 18, a US resident, etc). Use of bots, or creating fraudulent email addresses to increase your number of entries will result in disqualification from the giveaway, and will result in you being blocked from the ideeli community. So play nice and lets keep things fair and square. Have any other ideas? Share them with us.

TELL A FRIEND GIVEAWAYS: We promise that any winner of a Tell A Friend giveaway will have all invitations used to generate additional entries will be thoroughly audited to confirm their validity. In addition, during the Giveaway entry period we will audit all additional entries generated by invitations, and disqualify any members who submit invalid invitations. Some names may continue to appear on the Leader Board even after disqualification due to continued addition of invalid entries, but they will be removed as soon as possible.

Combined Event Start Emails

posted on December 4, 2008 by the ideeli team

In order to reduce the number of emails we send to you, we're now combining simultaneous sale announcements into one email. If you've signed up to be notified about any of the sales in the combined email, you will receive it.

Introducing Tell a Friend Giveaways

posted on December 1, 2008 by the ideeli team

Are you dying to win that new Balenciaga bag or Prada clutch? Now you have the chance to get more entries in special tell a friend giveaways. Here's how it works:

  • Keep your eyes peeled for the next "Tell a friend giveaway" in Coming Soon.
  • Once the giveaway has started, enter the same way you always do.
  • Follow the instructions to send a special invitation link to your friends via IM, Twitter, Facebook or email.
  • Each friend who joins before the giveaway drawing using your special invitation link will give you 1 additional giveaway entry!
  • Keep checking back to see which of your friends have joined! You'll also be able to see the members with the most entries in the giveaway.

As always, no purchase is necessary to enter our giveaways, and a purchase doesn't increase your chances of winning.

Note that not all of our giveaways will allow you to get extra entries by inviting friends to join.

Good luck!
